David Price is a Hollywood producer whose work in the unscripted and documentary spaces spans a variety of genres including true crime, cinematic horror, medical transformation, makeover, and music. Across more than two decades, he has helped shape intimate personal stories, ambitious series and live events for major networks and streaming platforms.
Raised in Dallas, Texas, with his first foray in Hollywood as a child actor appearing in children’s TV shows and commercials, Price attended the University of Pennsylvania, with studies at the Annenberg School for Communication. He began his career behind the scenes in Hollywood as an intern on the first season of American Idol: the season that introduced Kelly Clarkson, with Simon Cowell on the judging panel and Ryan Seacrest as co-host.
He developed his producing craft at Mike Fleiss’s Next Entertainment, progressing through the ranks during a formative period for modern unscripted television. Those early years included work on High School Reunion and The Bachelorette, building experience in character, story and the demands of production.
His subsequent work took him across leading Los Angeles production companies, including Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Films, Propagate Content, led by Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens, and Thinkfactory Media, founded by Leslie Greif. That range of production environments informs a career that moves between observational documentary, competition, cultural events and cinematic nonfiction.
His credits include Netflix’s Haunted, John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams, Who Killed Tupac? and Katy Perry’s Witness projects. Other productions feature Gene Simmons and the Backstreet Boys; his ongoing work with Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out began with the Lifetime reboot’s launch. Whether the subject is a public figure or a patient at a turning point, the focus is the same: a compelling story grounded in human experience.
